The Teacher's Guide to Staying Productive This Summer | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

Trust us—we know. Teachers have one of the hardest jobs around, molding the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow. After months of nonstop activity, summer break is well-deserved!

But while you’re packing your days full of rest and fun activities, add in some stuff that’s good for you, too! Our team at Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union has some suggestions for getting each day started right.

Wake Up!

Your morning routine is what sets the tone for your entire day.

How many times have you had a rough morning, and just nothing seemed to go right the rest of your day? That’s probably not a coincidence.

Even during the summer, wake up with a purpose! Read on for a look at some ways you can make the best of your morning routine:

Make a Plan

You’re a teacher! Of course planners are a part of your day.

But when it comes to this type of plan, it’s all about making the most of each of your days!

Sketch out what you’d like to do for the day, whether that includes an adventure with the kids, some time outdoors at the pool or just an afternoon excursion to run errands.

Drink Your Water

It is HOT outside! During the heat of the Tennessee summer, it’s extra important to drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. Whether you sip on ice water throughout the day or choose other non-carbonated, non-caffeinated drinks, drink up!

Don’t feel like you’re getting enough water from what you drink? Pack your diet full of fruits and veggies with a high water content, such as melon, berries, peppers and tomatoes.

Get Active

Of course, no matter what the day holds, you should always make time for exercise. Guidelines recommend that adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity (think walking or swimming) each week. That averages out to just more than 20 minutes per day—super doable, we think!

The great thing about these tips? They’re all free! Which means not only will you be productive, but you’ll also stay within your summer budget—a win-win!
