The Countdown Is on Until Winter Break | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

Students aren’t the only ones looking forward to the holiday break—teachers are, too! And we don’t blame you.

It has been a long stretch between fall and winter break, so that time away will be a good time for both students and teachers to refresh and recharge.

Our team at Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union wants to offer you tips on how you can make it through the school year until winter break arrives!

Let’s take a look at some ways you can make the time left until winter break as easy as possible for both you and your students:

Remind Your Students About Expectations

While the holiday break is an exciting time, that doesn’t mean that rules and order do not go out the window. Rather, rules and expectations should remain high until that last day of school before winter break.

Therefore, remind students that while it is an exciting time, and winter break is right around the corner, it is still a time to listen and follow the rules just like any other time in school.

Stick With Positive Reinforcement

Although you do want to make sure that your students follow the rules, threatening to take away holiday treats like a party isn’t the way to go. Both you and your students need that time to just enjoy each other and make memories that don’t involve school work.

Instead, work on reaffirming positive behavior using affirmations rather than the threat of not getting something.

Use the Holiday Theme in Lesson Plans

The learning doesn’t end just because the holidays are right around the corner. So, why not use the holiday theme in your lesson plan?

Just make sure you’re mindful and respectful of school system rules, as well as the cultural and religious beliefs of your students.
