Teachers, Finish the School Year Strong! | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

Can you believe another school year is about to be done? It seems like just yesterday the new year was beginning! We want you to finish out the school year strong, which is why our team at Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union has some tips for you.

Make the Last Days of School Count

By now your life at school is probably crazy and you have what feels like a million things to do before the 2017–2018 school year comes to an end.

But don’t let these days just pass you and your students by. Make each day count and end the school year on a high note!

First, you have spent the entire year building relationships with your students and their parents. Just because the school year is coming to an end, it doesn’t mean you still don’t have a bond to build.

Utilize these last days in order to inspire your students and show them how much you believe in them. Take the opportunities given during these last few days to speak to them about your hopes for them in the future and how you can’t wait to see all they accomplish in their lives.

Second, don’t try and finish your lesson plans early. While it might seem like a good idea, do you really want your students going stir crazy the last few days of school? Remember, you want to try to end on a good note.

Therefore, whether it’s planning review games or planning more creative activities like arts and crafts, you really want to help them stay focused until the very last day of school.

Finally, because you want to probably start the 2018–2019 school year off on the right foot, end the school year as organized as possible. Take some time to set up a filing system of lesson plans for next year, as well as put art supplies and other tools into one location until they’re needed next year.

Remember, you aren’t going to be seeing your classroom for a few months. Make sure you organize everything to where it is easily found come August!
