School's Out for Summer—Where Is the Extra Income? | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

The team at Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union wants to know who’s ready to earn some extra income this summer. Is it you?

Perfect Jobs for Teachers Over the Summer

Now that school is out for summer, it’s time to see what you can do to earn some additional income over the next few months before the 2017–2018 school year begins. Remember, this doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun this summer by taking a day or two here and there to relax, but these ways to make extra income can be fun and financially worth it!

First, there’s summer school. If a classroom is where you feel the most comfortable, then why not stay there and teach a semester or two during the summer? The extra income can help to pay for renovations on your home or that summer vacation you have been waiting to take.

However, if you don’t want to be the main teacher in the classroom over the summer, there’s always tutoring. Summer school is usually an opportunity for many students to take some of their hardest classes and focus just on that one subject instead of multiple like they do during the school year. Therefore, there might be more students in summer than during the fall who need additional tutoring. Tutoring can help give you the extra income while still allowing you to create your own schedule and have a summer break of your own.

Camp counseling is another way to make some additional income this summer. You are able to use your talents as a teacher to reach a whole new audience of kids, while also being able to put some additional income away for a rainy day. Plus, with camps, it allows you to have a couple weeks of work and then a couple weeks off—which might be the perfect mix for you when working this summer.
