Have a Financially Happy New Year!

Maybe 2015 was a hard year for you financially. Or, maybe you were finally able to put some back in a savings account! Whether you found financial success or hardship in 2015, you can always take a step to make things better by re-evaluating your finances for the new year and making new goals!

What Will Your Money Resolutions Be for 2016?

Here are some ideas for resolutions this upcoming year.

Take a look at your extra spending. Have you been enjoying a latte every morning? What about that spin class you pay for yet never attend? Look at where your extra money is going. You know, the money after all your bills are covered. Chances are, there is some spending taking place that could be better spent elsewhere, such as paying down a current debt or adding to your savings account.

What does your credit profile say about you? Take a look at your credit profile. How is your credit? Does it need some attention? Give your credit score a boost by making a goal to pay off debts, make payments on time (and early!), and consolidate where you can!

Get on a budget! Oh, the dreaded word, “budget!” But seriously, make it a point to finally take a good look at your finances (what is coming in versus what is going out) and budget where each dollar goes. This will help keep your finances on track for the next year, as well as help you possibly establish a good emergency fund, so that emergencies will no longer cause you to go deeper into debt.
