Great Fall Crafts for Elementary Classes | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

With fall settling into the Tennessee Valley and Halloween just around the corner, this is the perfect time for some seasonal crafts. Whether you’re with students in the classroom or passing them supplies for group projects conducted in a virtual setting, here are some ideas elementary students will love that only take a few supplies and a little effort.

  • One thing in plentiful supply in fall is leaves. Put them to good use in this spooky craft that turns leaves into haunting, cheerful or goofy ghosts; it’s all up to the kids!

  • Simply cutting an apple in half turns it into a perfect stamp for creating cute little pumpkins. Add some bits of pipe cleaner for the stem and googly eyes, and you’ve got a silly craft that will go straight to the refrigerator.

  • Here’s a great project that can also help with efforts to encourage kids to read more: pressed flowers and leaves bookmarks. Just set some blooms or autumn leaves on cardstock and seal it with a laminator or contact paper (the latter is the obvious choice for virtual classes), then finish it off with a yarn tassel.

  • These glow stick broomsticks are fun, whimsical and seasonal. Plus, they could help keep kids safe when they head out for trick-or-treating, whether this year or next.

  • A DIY moss terrarium can bring a bit of greenery inside for the long, dark months ahead. Plus, there’s a science lesson in creating a living ecosystem kids can keep in their rooms.

  • Another great produce-turned-stamp project is this adorable owl craft painted with a stamp made from a celery stalk.
