Come Back From Winter Break Ready to Go in the New Year | Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union

Chances are you have been waiting for winter break to arrive for a while. In reality, you probably started your holiday break countdown after returning to school from Thanksgiving break, and we don’t blame you!

Our team at Cleveland Bradley County Teachers Federal Credit Union understands how important it is for teachers to take a break in order to refresh and recharge. That’s why we want to offer some tips to help you do just that.

Let’s take a look at some ways you can make the most of your time over winter break:

Take Time for Quiet

As much as you love your students, the last thing you think of when you think about them is quiet time—and why would you? As teachers, we want our students to be excited about learning! However, that can take a lot of energy from us to get them excited. Therefore, some much-needed quiet time is well-deserved over winter break.

Make sure you are taking a few minutes every day to try and enjoy some quiet moments—whether it is going for a quiet drive to look at Christmas lights around town or waking up a little early just to be able to actually sit down and enjoy your morning of coffee before the day begins. Savor those moments throughout winter break where you can just be.

Take Time for Exercise

You focus during the school day on your students getting physical activity, but what about you? Now is the time to start making your health a priority, too. Make time to get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week over the holiday break. If you do so, chances are high that you are able to make this a habit and stick to it when heading back to school!

Your students deserve a healthy teacher, and you deserve a healthy you! Use your winter break to establish better lifestyle habits that include daily exercise.

Take Time for Preparation

While you definitely need to use most of your winter break for you time, you also don’t want to start off the January semester behind. Therefore, use some of your winter break to get a plan together for the rest of the school year.

What do you want to accomplish with your class before the school year ends? What projects do you want to complete this semester? By getting a plan in place now, you can have a smoother and more fun school year!
